The mastery of Le Corbusier use of natural light in in its ‘promenade architecturale’ was on full display during a recent trip to the Villa Savoye in Poissy, France. While the house is very much stripped of any decorum, the journey in the house is an intriguing play of light and shadows, inviting but never revealing what is behind.
The chromatic color is a variation of white and black and every shade of grey in the layered planes of vision, accented by details such as the small steel ramp painted in black over a white stair parapet.
